Artist Bio

Bio photo
I have been painting and printmaking for many years, but have recently started to pay more attention to how these two approaches to art making can inform one another, and on occasion be combined. This makes for a diverse and experimental practice exploring painterly prints, 'painting' with printmaking tools rather than brushes, and collaging prints into paintings. Creating brings me joy - and the more I do, the more I learn and the more my work evolves. I find inspiration in my surroundings, whether that is at home or when travelling, but I always seem to return to the local landscape, compelled to explore the details in which I find a quiet beauty.

I have a formal art education with a BA (Fine Art) and an MA (Art & Design) from Loughborough University, as well as experience as a university teacher. In addition to developing my own practice (which I readily accept is a life time of effort) I enjoy sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with others and can arrange 1:1 tuition on request. Please contact me for further information.
